jOverlay

Overlays are the small effect that nobody notices, but makes all the difference.

They are usually shown along with modal popup scripts and are used to dim the background by overlaying a solid color or pattern image at a reduced alpha-transparency value.

This plugin allows some customizations. The developer can set the overlay opacity and it's background color.

A demo is included with the download package.

Requirements:

· JavaScript enabled on client side
· jQuery 1.3.2 or higher
