Resize images before upload 1.8

A WordPress plugin for automatically resizing large images before uploading them
Resize images before upload - Automatic image resize settings can be adjusted from the Settings->Media section
  1 Screenshot
The 'Resize images before upload' plugin will place itself between WordPress' image selection and the image upload process.

The plugin detects the size of the images selected by an user and if above the limit set inside the "Settings->Media->Image Sizes" admin section, it will downsize them all before the upload begins.

This way, large, unusable images are resized to a smaller version that can be used inside a Web page, saving bandwidth costs along the way.

Unpack and upload it to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress.

What's New in version 1.6
  • Tweaked the list of supported browsers adding Opera and then also adding iPad/iPhone just to stop the warning coming up even if people aren't uploading images on those platforms.
