"Post type" is a WordPress specific term used to describe the type of content stored inside the WordPress database.

Default post types are posts (blog articles) and (static) pages.

Since version 3.x, WordPress also supports "custom post types", feature which developers have used to create custom post structures to store any kind of data they want.

While custom post types can almost be identical to posts and pages, the only difference being that they're stored separately from posts and pages in the database, some developers have used custom post types to create totally new content types, each one with its own settings and functionality.

The Convert Post Types allows developers to move content from one kind of post type to another in mass, with the push of a button.

When doing this, webmasters can filter source data to a specific category or parent and can also output the new custom post type to a specific category, tags or authors.

The Convert Post Types plugin is ideal when switching in-between site themes that usually use different structured post types to store the user's data.

Installation:

Unpack and upload it to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress.
