All information that we will be providing to you are things that you already have when you signed up for your FEDEX account. We will just guide you how to piece them up all together using technologies generally free for public use like ASP, VBSCRIPT and XML so you can come up with your own live shipping calculator and integrate it with your website.
Please check with the FEDEX website how you can acquire an account. Our codes will help you implement your online shipping calculator using your own tools and licenses. We do not access FEDEX resources directly from our servers.
Just like any other shipping tools, the basic information needed to calculate a shipping rate are (1) Sender's address, (2) Recipients delivery address and (3) Shipping weight. There are other requirements needed depending on the shipping company. The account given to you by FEDEX enables you to pull live shipping rates. Our codes are meant just to help you to program the tools that you already have.
Our template codes are built using ASP, VBSCRIPT and XML. You are free to modify the codes to your liking. Unless you have your own FEDEX account though, you will not be able to use the codes properly. All your interaction with FEDEX shall be governed by the agreement that you signed up with them. We do not disclose any CONFIDENTIAL information or technology.
We will not provide you any Account or Password or FEDEX web server address. All of these information are in in the information packet that you will get from FEDEX when you sign up for an account. To the best of our knowledge, those information are confidential and bound by the End User agreement and are meant to be used only between you and FEDEX. Needless to say, whatever tools you develop will have to comply with the terms of your end-user agreement.
In keeping with FEDEX policy and stringent rules to maintain quality control and deter network interference, we do not provide a live interface demo.
Our Guarantee to you: If for some reason you are not able to create a live shipping calculator using our code despite having your own valid FEDEX account, we will refund your payment.
You can use this script very easily by adding it as an "include" file to your existing ASP page. Calling the function will return an array of string that consists of the shipping cost, description and estimated delivery date or number of delivery days. You may display that result as a pulldown menu selection or a set of radio buttons. In addition, the results are already sorted by ascending shipping cost!
We have provided 3 additional example pages that demonstrate exactly how to utilize the code.
To make it even easier for you, we have included a separate script for generating a METER number. A meter number is required to access live rates.
Important: Your server must support ASP to run these scriportant: Your serv/p>
