A Conversion Tracker will allow you to see how many sales are being produced relative to the number of people visiting your website. This is known as a conversion ratio. For example, let's say you're selling a product on your website and you get 100 visitors. If 2 of them buy your product, the conversion ratio is 2%. Looked at another way, 2% of the 100 people who visited your site bought your product.

This script is useful for producing an overall conversion ratio to measure the effectiveness of your website in converting visitors to buyers.

This differs from the click-based Conversion Tracker which produces a conversion ratio based on the number of people clicking on a particular link to your website (i.e. the number of visitors who arrive at your site via a certain link, as opposed to the total number of visitors). Useful for determining which external links to your website are producing the highest quality traffic (high quality traffic means people who are ready and willing to buy).

To use this Conversion Tracker, all you have to do is place some code on each page in your website. It's important to remember that people can arrive at your site on any page which is indexed in a search engine or linked to, you can't assume they'll all arrive on your index page. For this reason, you have to place some code on each page.
