Apache Commons Daemon 1.0.15

An open source Apache utility for creating and controlling operating system daemons (for UNIX) and system services (for Windows)
Apache Commons Daemon is basically a Java-based API for controlling how daemons and services react to external commands, and how these commands affect the Java application for which the daemon/service was setup for.

This is needed because of the way the Java programming language was created to run, Commons Daemon providing an app-friendly way of shutting down Java applets and servlets without losing important data due to the abrupt ways Java can terminate applications.

Having such a tool within your project allows developers to run a series of operations before another one is executed, basically expanding the original daemon/service command to have it trigger additional operations.

The original Apache Commons Daemon code has its origins in the Apache Tomcat Java server project.
