    WebGUI description

This is both a content management system and an application framework for website building, written in Perl

WebGUI is a content management platform built to give average business users the ability to build and maintain complex web sites.

With this framework users can create photo galleries, participate in forums, publish articles, manage projects, sell or advertise products, do surveys, manage agendas and many more.

It is modular, pluggable, and platform independent.

Here are some key features of "WebGUI":

    · Absolutely easy to use. Most users can pick up the interface with little or no training.
    · Inline WYSIWYG content editors. Built in editors for IE and Mozilla.
    · Per user UI Levels allow the user to "dumb down" the interface to suit each content manager's skill level.
    · Upload images and other files directly through the UI, no need for FTP/SFTP.
    · Integrated online help, complete with hover help on most form fields.
    · Javascript wizards that help users who don't know HTML, but want to customize their content.
    · Integrated versioning makes it easy to undo mistakes.
    · Pluggable wobject architecture for extensibility in applications.
    · Pluggable macro architecture for even further extensibility and flexibility.
    · Extensible meta-data support allows to add any arbitrary attributes to content.
    · Customizable dynamic navigation configuration allows the user to create almost any kind of navigation system.
    · Static HTML exports for offline sites and high traffic sites.
    · Completely extensible user profiling system.
    · Passive profiling system allows to keep track of what the users and visitors are doing, and then display content that meets their browsing habits.
    · Integrated internationalization and localization support.
    · Runs on almost any operating system.
    · Modular design so the code is easy to update, change, and replace.
    · Built in shopping cart for selling products online.
    · Integrated payment gateway allows to collect payments online via Master Card, Visa, American Express, Discover, and even personal checks.
    · Subscription payments allows the user to charge weekly, monthly, yearly, etc for ongoing services.
    · Subscription codes allows the user to sell online services in bulk to large organizations.
