A simple flat file PHP referrer logger.
Simply stores URL referrals in a text file for simple and easy reading.
Installation
- To install simply upload the log-referrer.php and refers.txt file. On some webhosts and setups you may have to CHMOD refers.txt to 777 or 755.
- Then paste the following PHP code where you wish to track refers to your website:
- The refers.txt file will store the referral logs. If you wish to change this file or the path of the file then open log-referrer.php and alter the file variable as commented.
Configuration
- Opening log-referrer.php will allow you to edit the $log_ip variable. If set to 1 the IPs of visitors will be logged along with the URLs they were referred by and if set to 0 they will not. If you log the IPs you may wish to update your privacy policy to inform your users.
- To view the referrals open refers.txt in your browser or download the file and open in notepad or a similar program. The latest logged referral will be at the bottom of the file with the first one at the top. If your website gets lots of traffic you may have to clear your refers.txt in order to improve load times.
