"Four More Years" – the Most Retweeted Tweet in History, Obama Secures Second Term

Barack Obama has won the US presidential elections

Barack Obama sealed his second term last night, both literally and figuratively. While his supporters erupted into joy, his first words were simple and, obviously, on Twitter.

Granted, if you believe a picture is worth a thousand words, he gave quite the speech on Twitter.

"Four more years," he said and linked to a photo of him hugging Michelle celebrating the victory. A simple tweet, but one that resonated with the country.

It's been retweeted 480,000 times by now and it's obvious that it will get past 500,000 and very likely much more than that. Already it's the most retweeted tweet in history, the previous record belonged to Justin Bieber.

Obama also tweeted "This happened because of you. Thank you," and "We're all in this together. That's how we campaigned, and that's who we are. Thank you. -bo." Those tweets a few hundred thousand retweets as well.
