Facebook has started rolling out a feature which could prove interesting or incredibly annoying, namely photo comments. There's really not much to say about this. You can now add photos to your comments to go along with your witty remarks.

The feature is simple enough – in the comments box you'll now notice a new photo icon. It's a gradual rollout, so you may not have it yet.

If you do see it, clicking on it will enable you to upload a photo to Facebook to enhance your comment. In fact, you can leave out the text altogether and just post the photo.

"When I'm talking with a friend, sometimes showing a photo helps me tell a story much better than words alone," Bob Baldwin, who built the feature, explained.

"If we're hanging out in person, I can show a photo from my phone, but on Facebook I'd have to post a link to a photo. Now, you'll be able to attach a photo directly when posting a comment," he said.

Judging by the reactions to the announcement and all the photos already shared in the comments, this is one feature people are going to love. Most changes and new features on Facebook are usually met with annoyed users. And before you ask, no, you can't use GIFs. For now, at least.
