Yahoo and Vevo have decided to expand their partnership through a deal that will bring brand new videos, live concert events and other original programming straight to Yahoo Screen.
According to the announcement, viewers will finally get access to Vevo’s music content from the United States and Canada. Later on, the partnership will also cover several more countries – the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, and Italy.
There will also be a delay between the time the web version of Yahoo Screen gets the content and the mobile apps will.
Rio Caraeff, president and CEO of Vevo, said that the renewed partnership with Yahoo would bring Vevo’s programming to more music fans. “Yahoo has the potential to be one of our largest partners, and our launch across Yahoo Screen and, soon in more countries and on more platforms, is a big win for viewers who want to watch their favorite music video programming anytime and anywhere.”
This isn’t exactly a surprise, considering that the deal was first announced back in November, when it was said that Vevo will provide access to over 75,000 HD music videos for Yahoo Screen, Yahoo Celebrity and other Yahoo properties. The original announcement only included the United Kingdom.
