WordPress.com has announced that it's now offering bloggers .co domains, alongside the existing options, to those that want to go with a custom WordPress domain name, but still want to be hosted by the company.

"We’re excited to announce the addition of .CO as a new top-level domain on WordPress.com. If you’re interested in buying a custom domain name for a new or existing site, you can now choose and register .CO from among our existing options (.ME, .COM, .NET, .ORG). The .CO domain costs $25/year [€19]," the company announced.

That's a bit steeper than getting the same domain via another reseller, you can buy a regular .co domain for as little as $11 (€8.35) per year. But you'd still need to buy the WordPress.com custom domain name option, which is $13 (€9.86) per year, so you wouldn't be saving much.

Custom domain names are one of the ways WordPress.com, which offers free hosting, makes money, alongside with the option to use custom CSS and many other similar perks.
