The deal involves content-sharing with some of BBC’s TV shows
Twitter is partnering with BBC America in a content-sharing deal that will bring the first “in-Tweet branded video synced to entertainment TV series.” The news was posted on BBC America’s Twitter
While the news has spread like wildfire on the Internet, there are no additional details regarding the deal.
This makes me wonder about which of BBC’s TV shows would be involved in the affair. It might be safe to assume that Doctor Who and Top Gear are definitely on the shortlist since they were specifically named in the tweet.
Aside from the new collaboration between Twitter and the TV network, the microblogging platform has had a busy week, launching Twitter Music on Thursday on Good Morning America.
With the two of them combined, it’s obvious that the company is aiming for a much larger audience than now, by transforming the once-simple microblogging platform into a true multimedia playground.
This is possible thanks to the latest acquisitions, namely Twitter Music, built by a startup and Vine, a video-sharing service that was bought earlier this year.
