Twitter’s advertising platform for small and medium businesses has opened up for companies in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Canada.
This is the first time the company is able to sell ad space directly to small-sized companies outside the United States, who previously had to work for a good relationship with Twitter before being allowed to buy ads on the site. This limited the company’s revenue horizons to some extent.
Now, with a simple Twitter account and a credit card, companies can get full control over their ads, including the audience they want to reach and the allocated budget.
The decision to open up its ad business to other countries outside the United States in this manner, letting companies handle their own campaigns, comes a week after Twitter went public at the New York Stock Exchange and could be a signal that they have solid growth and expansion plans.
