Step by Step Guide to Using Magnet Links with uTorrent

The differences are small, but some users are finding some difficulties

Magnet links have been around for years and they've been in wide use for at least a couple. Yet The Pirate Bay's recent move to use magnet links exclusively, unless the torrents have very few seeders, below 10, has still caught a lot of people off-guard.

The way magnet links work behind the scenes, is quite different to the way .torrent files work, but for regular users who just want to get their favorite movies, the changes are minimal.

The two big differences is that there's nothing to download, that's a good thing, and that you won't be able to select individual files from a larger torrent before starting the download.

For now, there's no way of getting around this limitation, you have to first add the torrent to your list, wait for the metadata to be downloaded from the swarm and then select the files you want. Check out the gallery below or click on the large image above for a step by step guide.
