Sina Weibo, the popular Chinese microblogging service, is bragging about some impressive stats set during the Chinese New Year this weekend.
And it's got a lot to brag about, in the first second of the New Year, the service got a few posts shy of 35,000.
In the first minute, Sina Weibo got some 731,102 posts, a truly impressive number, not just for Weibo, which saw a huge increase over last year's numbers, but also overall. The figure surged to 19,582,947 posts in the first seven hours.
Twitter only got 33,388 tweets per second at its peak for the regular New Year 2013, not that far behind but still a small number than Weibo.
Sina Weibo has some 400 million registered users and it seems a lot of them are active. For the record, Twitter has 200 million monthly active users.
