Users get 50 GB for free, but paying users can get 80 times more
Mega, the new cloud storage service from MegaUpload's Kim Dotcom, is now live for some early users, ahead of the bigger launch tomorrow. The site also has some more info on what's available and what's coming soon but, again, that's only available to the few users that got early access. We've had some details on what Mega will be like and more have come recently. For example, free users get 50 GB of storage. The site is also HTML5 heavy and recommends Chrome for the best experience.
TechCrunch was able to get some pricing info, for those that need more storage, €9.99, €19.99 and €29.99 per month ($13.31, $26.63, $39.95 respectively) will get you 500 GB of storage and 1 TB of bandwidth, 2 TB/4 TB and 4 TB with 8 TB, respectively.
The prices are actually quite intriguing, much cheaper than what most other cloud storage services offer.
