Google's Valentine Doodle Is like Chatroulette with Ferris Wheels

Though significantly safer for work than the fad website

Google is celebrating two things on February 14 this year, Valentine's Day of course, there's no escaping that, but also the birthday of George W.G. Ferris Jr., the inventor of the modern Ferris Wheel.

Google went all out for this year's doodle and came up with an interesting interactive design.

You push the "love" button, the two Ferris Wheels spin randomly matching two of the animal characters available. You then get to see how the love story between the two animals plays out in a short comic strip.

With 16 animal characters in total, there are 240 combinations so that's a lot of comic strips to go through. If you've got the time, you can check out some of them on the Google homepage.

Funnily enough, there are versions where the pairings don't happen and one animal gets to enjoy a night alone watching TV. It doesn't look too disappointed by that.

The doodle is live in plenty of places around the world. If you live in a country that hates love or crass consumerism, you can check out the doodle in Google's archive page.
