Google is announcing the biggest ever update to Street View, in terms of new imagery. In total, 250,000 miles, 400,000 km, of road were  updated or added. Google is also adding a lot more special collections, all over the world, doubling their number.

There are more places added in several countries, Google lists Macau, Singapore, Sweden, the U.S., Thailand, Taiwan, Italy, Great Britain, Denmark, Norway and Canada,

Also, there are now special collections in several new places, South Africa, Japan, Spain, France, Brazil, Mexico and others.

There's too much new stuff to list it, it's easier to just go to a place near you or a place you've always wanted to visit and see what's new.

"You can explore our many new places directly in Google Maps, including parks, city centers, castles and tourist attractions like Catherine Palace and Ferapontov monastery in Russia, the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall in Taiwan, or Stanley Park in Vancouver. You can even walk through the urban jungle of Singapore's Fort Canning Park, without ever leaving home," Google wrote about some of the new special locations available.
