Google’s social network is growing at a slow pace, but it’s a steady one. Google+ now has some 540 million active users each month.
According to the company’s latest announcement, there are also some 300 million people active in just the stream.
Most remarkable, however, is the fact that Google+ has become a place where people go to upload images. Some 1.5 billion photos get uploaded every week, said Vic Gundotra, senior VP of Engineering at Google.
In a Hangout session, Google has also made some other announcements. For instance, Google+ can now stich together multiple photos, while a new Eraser tool can take out unwanted areas of an image, such as someone photo-bombing you.
The service also has the ability to combine short clips into a single film, something that usually required having some kind of software installed.
