Google is introducing a new Capture app for Hangouts to enable users to save the most interesting moments of a hangout. The idea is to replace the need to create screenshots, any image saved with the Capture app will be stored in Google+ photos in a shared album available to everyone in the hangout.
"The Hangouts Capture app will soon be available worldwide, so look for it the next time you join a Hangout. Together with Effects, YouTube and other apps, we hope you’ll find Hangouts an even better way to make memories together," Google's Jeremy Ng wrote.
Google lists several advantages to the Capture app. For one, after you've opened it, taking a screenshot only takes one click.
All of the images are then available to everyone in the hangout from the hangout itself, from Google+ photos and later from the hangout post.
Everyone will also be notified when the Capture app is being used. That's not going to prevent anyone from taking a regular screenshot, but it's still something.
