Facebook Is Down – June 19, 2014 [FIXED]

Facebook is not loading for users around the world

Facebook is currently down and has been having troubles for a few minutes already for unknown reasons.

The company’s servers aren’t responding right now and users are scrambling to other platforms wondering if they’re the only ones having troubles or if the issues are widespread.

The problems don’t seem to be limited to a single area, however, but seem rather widespread, with people from the United States, Europe, Africa and Asia complaining about the issue.

The extremely popular platform hasn’t exactly been working to its full potential in recent days, with users reporting slow loading times.

Unfortunately, as previously mentioned, it looks like the service disruption has reached all corners of the world, which is rather uncommon for Facebook. It’s not the first time that the service has become unavailable, but issues are usually restricted to small areas, which indicates that the problems the company is facing right now are more serious than usual.

Let’s hope that this isn’t an ongoing attack and that user data isn’t currently in danger. We reached out to Facebook and will update if we hear back. The company has yet to make an official statement on any of its channels.

[Update 2] Facebook seems to be making a recovery and access has been restored to some users, including the Softpedia offices. It is yet unclear if the service is back for everyone.

[Update 3] “Earlier this morning, we experienced an issue that prevented some users from posting to Facebook for a brief period of time. We resolved the issue quickly, and we are now back to 100%. We're sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused," a Facebook spokesperson told Softpedia, but refused to pin point the reason for the downtime.
