The year has just started and Facebook has already made an acquisition. The company bought link-sharing service Branch and its sister app Potluck.
The news comes from the company’s CEO, Josh Miller, who posted the information on Facebook. There’s been no price attached to the deal thus far.
“We will be forming Facebook's Conversations group, based in New York City, with the goal of helping people connect with others around their interests. Their pitch to us was: ‘Build Branch at Facebook scale!’,” Miller wrote in his post.
It looks like Branch and Potluck won't be shut down. Miller's team will apparently work on similar tools for Facebook.
Miller wanted to be the first one to discuss the purchase. The CEO, who is currently on vacation, was apparently tipped that the story was going to leak, so he came forth and made the revelation himself.
