AOL to Publish 15 Web Series

The company is trying to catch up with its competitors

AOL joins the original Web series trend that has taken over several major companies, such as Yahoo, Hulu and Netflix.

The company has announced that it will publish 15 new online shows. They have also enlisted several A-list celebrities such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jonathan Adler that are to host or star in these web series.

The shows are going to make their debut all AOL On Network, the company’s video platform, as well as across its partner websites.

"Consumers are watching web video everywhere and all the time - on their plasma screens in their living rooms, on their mobile phones, and on their tablets," said Karen Cahn, general manager, AOL On Original Video, in a statement.

"With our premium quality original programming, AOL is bridging the gap between what people see on broadcast TV and what they see online," she continued.

Among the shows that will air, you can find names such as “City Ballet,” “#Candidlynicole” and “Second Chances,” to name just a few of those who feature well-known names.
