Chrome OS seems to be gaining steam. A couple of cheap devices launched recently have spurred quite a lot of sales, but Google is also going after enterprises and schools.
In fact, it seems that the Chromebook is fast becoming a huge success in education. Google boasts that there are now 2,000 schools using Chromebooks around the world.
It means that tens of thousands of students are already using Chromebooks, making it possible for their schools to worry more about how to make the most of them rather than how to keep the devices virus free.
The biggest surprise though is that the number has doubled in just the last three months.
Google is doubling down on this as well, Lenovo has started making a Chromebook ThinkPad exclusively for education environments. The device is sturdier than most Chromebooks, this alone making it the best choice for schools.
